APPOINTED PERSONS IN THE WORKPLACE

Businesses in the UK have to make correct provision for first aid in the workplace and the Appointed Persons course is ideal for small businesses as well as extra coverage in medium to large businesses. This course is taught under the guidelines of the HSE First Aid at Work Regulations 1981.

If you require a classroom course EFAW is ideal but this course is 100% online saving you time and money to comply with your training requirements. The certificate is valid for 3 years and to renew you complete another appointed persons course. This course can be completed 100% online unlike the other workplace courses as it is designed to give an employee a basic understanding of first aid requirements and basic treatments.

The HSE recommend that all first aiders complete an annual first aid refresher course and our online course meets this requirement.

PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID

Yes, the Ofsted first aid requirements for Nannies and Au Pairs depend on whether registration is required . If you choose to register, in most cases people working with children including Nannies, Au Pairs, Childminders, Nursery Workers and Childcare Workers need the 2 day 12 hour course to meet the requirements. If you are looking at also entering other childcare sectors, then the full 2 day or our blended paediatric course would be best.

Regulations for the Childcare Register require the childminder or home child carer to have an appropriate first aid qualification. However, it is for the provider to determine whether these minimum standards are appropriate for the type of care they provide and whether more advanced training or qualification is required.

This one day or online/blended course is for Nannies and Au Pairs who do not need to register. This 6 contact hours course can be taken as a classroom course or blended using ProNanny.co.uk and is also ideal as an annual refresher for any paediatric first aid course.

FIRST AID FOR TEACHERS

First Aid for Teachers is designed for teachers to have a basic understanding of first aid techniques for conditions that they may encounter when looking after children.

The course covers primary and secondary care skills.

This is ideal for nurses, care workers or medical professionals needing annual updates to complete professional membership.

In most cases this course is ideal as an online only course but if you need a practical session as well, we can offer the course as blended, including a short practical session.

The course is valid for one year, complies with the latest ERC and UK Resuscitation Council Guidelines and can be done 100% online, blended or classroom based.

AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR

INCLUDING CPR AND BASIC LIFE SUPPORT

The purpose of this Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation is to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and understanding in the provision of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and of the safe use and management of an Automated External Defibrillator. This qualification offers the trained provider the opportunity to provide effective emergency lifesaving first aid care using an AED. This is achieved through the understanding of the BLS/AED algorithm and the responsibilities and treatment principles of AED use.

This course covers Basic Life Support skills and includes skills for Adult, Child and Infant as well as healthcare variations on infant CPR. The course includes: Safety, precautions, initial assessment, recovery position, CPR, compression only CPR, CPR handover and choking.

AED training is also included in the course. Learning AED skills is becoming more important with the increase in the numbers of units in the community and workplace. They are easy to use with a little training and make a real difference in the chance of survival to someone in cardiac arrest. If you have already completed any other first aid course you will understand the importance of prompt use of an AED making this an ideal next course to take to develop your skills.
